Registration Information

June 2-5, 2008
New Orleans, Louisiana

The Conference begins at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, and continues through 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008. Additionally, full-day sessions are available Monday, June 2.

Attendee Payments:

Full conference, Tuesday – Thursday ................................................ $365
Full conference plus Monday session or NITA .................................. $490

TASC Attendee Payment Includes:

  • Breakfast, Lunch, and morning and afternoon refreshment breaks Tuesday
    through Thursday;
  • Tuesday evening reception;
  • Admission to two General Sessions (Tuesday and Thursday mornings);
  • Admission to all sessions Tuesday through Thursday;
  • On-site program with session descriptions, registration lists, speaker lists, and general information;
  • Session handouts; and
  • Conference CD with handouts and resources from all conference sessions.

CAP and PAIMI Subsidy: TASC provides a subsidy ($300 for CAP; $125 for PAIMI AC) for one individual from each agency to attend the conference. Please indicate which subsidy is being taken on the registration form and reduce your payment by that amount.

Full-day Sessions are available Monday, June 2, and require an additional attendee payment; please sign up early, as space is limited. The National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) will conduct a two-day training Monday and Tuesday, June 2 and 3.

  • School to Prison Pipeline Reform LIMIT: 50
  • Legal Directors Meeting (limited to Legal Directors)
  • PAIMI Advisory Council Training (limited to PAIMI AC Chairs, Coordinators,
    and members)

Conference Location: The 2008 TASC P&A/CAP Annual Conference will be held at the New Orleans Marriott, located at the edge of the historic French Quarter on Canal Street:

  • The hotel is 14 miles from the Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY).
  • Parking is available at the Marriott at the rate of $30/day.
  • The New Orleans Marriott is a smoke-free hotel and all guests and attendees must comply with Marriott’s policy.
  • When making reservations, Marriott requires a one-night room deposit. Reservations cannot be made without this deposit. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m.; check-out time is noon.

A block of rooms with a negotiated single/double room rate of $189 per night has been reserved during the conference. When making reservations, please call (800) 654-3990 and refer to code NDRNDRA or go to www.marriott.com/msyla?groupCode=NDRNDRA@app=resvlink . Please make reservations early, as reservations in the room block are not guaranteed and the room block may sell out prior to the reservation deadline of Wednesday, May 7, 2008. After May 7, IF there are any rooms left in the block, they will be released for sale to the general public and rooms and rates cannot be guaranteed.

Special Accommodations: Every effort has been made to ensure that the New Orleans Marriott is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you anticipate a need in this area, please make arrangements with the Marriott as soon as possible. Accommodation needs for the conference itself should be indicated on the registration form.
