Regulatory Activity

When the U.S. Congress passes a law, it is up to federal agencies to draft regulations for implemention.  The rulemaking process includes a public comment period.  NDRN monitors, comments, testifies, and coordinates responses from our members on rules and regulations proposed by federal agenices that may impact people with disabilities, including their abilities to secure benefits and entitlements and enforce their legal rights  Read the latest comments.

Testimony

NDRN provides expert testimony to Congress, federal agencies, state governments, and elsewhere on disability rights issues and the administration of services to people with disabilities.  Read, watch and listen to NDRN's testimony.

The Courts

NDRN authors amicus, or "friend of the court", briefs and signs on to amicus briefs filed by other organizations in cases involving issues of significance to the Protection and Advocacy Network.  NDRN accepts requests to participate in an amicus brief from P&As, as well as others. Persons wanting to submit a request must fill out the NDRN Amicus Request form and submit it to NDRN's amicus coordinator. Factors influencing whether NDRN can grant a request include the importance of the issues to the P&A network, the procedural posture of the case, and the amount of time available for preparation and review of the amicus brief before it needs to be filed.  Read the most recent briefs.
