NDRN continues to work to address the needs of individuals with mental health conditions working with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and various coalitions specifically focused on the needs of this population. With the passage of the Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, and its expansion in healthcare reform, NDRN continues to work to make sure that the needs of those with mental health conditions are taken into account in healthcare, employment, education and other issue areas. In addition, NDRN has received a subcontract from SAMHSA’s Center for Mental Health Services via the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors to provide additional technical assistance to raise awareness of the need for the Mental Health Block Grant.
