    • Who should bring it …EVERYONE!

    Who must have it

According to federal law, any individual who had registered by mail and is voting in a jurisdiction for the first time must be prepared to produce ID.

Some states’ laws require all voters to have identification, so find out if your state requires ID or just bring ID with you.

    Who should bring it …EVERYONE!

It’s always a good idea to bring identification with you to the polls. Some states require all voters to show identification and even in states where they are not supposed to ask you for identification, poll workers sometimes do. Having identification with you will make voting easier.

    What ID is acceptable?

The type of ID accepted differs from state to state, so it is important to find out what forms of ID are acceptable in your state. Also, Voter Education Cards regarding identification are available for five states.
